Se desideri diventare un tester di azMidi, dovresti
riconoscerti in queste poche caratteristiche:
- Sono un tastierista (o un chitarrista)
- Possiedo più di un solo apparecchio MIDI (sarebbe meglio:
ho una struttura MIDI complessa)
- Non suono solo a casa, ma anche in concerti dal vivo
- Conosco le basi di MIDI, come comandi di tipo Program
Change, Controller, eventi MIDI, ecc.
- Parlo e scrivo in italiano (o in inglese ovviamente!)

If you count VST instruments then I have tons, but even hardware, I have
quite a lot MIDI devices...
Yes, we have a (hobbyist) cover band and do about 10-15 gigs a year
You ask if I have a
basic MIDI knowledge, so I know commands like Program Changes,
Controllers, MIDI Events, etc.?
I think so!
I can speak and write in english (or italian of course!)? To be
confirmed, my latin is about 30 years old ;-)

Posseggo un trinity, triton studio, jv 1010 e motif rack.
Questi 2 li piloto via triton e utilizzo il mixer 01v della yamaha via
midi per controllare tutto. Conosco molto bene le basi del midi.
(utilizzo logic audio, cubase, nuendo....) e suono tipicamente 2-3 volte
al mese con il mio gruppo musicale. Apriamo spesso gli Animali Rari
(sono di Piacenza io e forse li hai sentiti nominare gli Animali Rari).Conosco
bene l'inglese naturalmente.

Sono adea del forum Supporti Musicali. Ti sembrerà
incredibile ma ho finito ieri di fare l'analisi per un programma che mi
gestista le attrezzature midi live ma mi hai anticipato.
Mi piacerebbe provare il software come betatester.
Questa è la mia attrezzatura:
Roland Xp-80, Roland RD-150, Roland JV-1010, Korg M1, e presto Yamaha
motif-rack.

musicali e ho voluto scriverti direttamente via mail...mi ricordo
che ci sentimmo qualche mese fa per parlare appunto di azmidi...che
in effetti fa proprio al caso mio!
Ultimamente sto facendo tanti live e non ne posso più
della mia master!
se noti ho aperto un topic a riguardo tempo fa...io
ho assolutamente bisogno del tuo programma!
Voglio diventare anche io betatester!
Se serve io faccio ingegneria informatica e ne so un po' di
programmazione in generale, ho appunto proposto di creare un
qualcosa del genere sul forum, anche se nessuno ha risposto...
per ora ho solo un motif rack più oberheim mc2000..ma mi sono
stancato della mia master, voglio che tutte le funzioni siano
gestibili via pc! Esattamente come sembra fare il tuo programma,
organizzarmi gli step e poi magari gestire il chain step via pedale!
Ho anche un portatile collegabile via usb al rack e
poi penso dovrei prendermi una scheda audio col midi in per poter
collegare la master...
Forse non sono attrezzatissimo ma di sicuro quel programma è fatto
per me perciò se ti serve un betatester io ci sto!

Io sto studiando Comunicazione Digitale e sicuramente la
tesi del terzo anno (e quella del quinto se continuo) riguarderà uno dei
tanti temi dell'informatica musicale. Sono particolarmente interessato
(anche se non so quanto sia spendibile in ambito lavorativo) alle
applicazioni dedicate alle performance dal vivo.

Ciao, io sono un tastierista di Verbania (VB). Sono circa
18 anni che suono.
Purtroppo però non è il mio lavoro principale e quindi non riesco a
dedicare tutto il tempo che vorrei. Comunuqe se ti interessa un
betatester io ci sono.
La mia strumentazione è:
Piano digitale/master Roland RD 500, Roland Fantom FA 76, Korg T3,
Triton rack (SCSI+80 MB RAM), sampler yamaha A3000 (ancora per poco),
GEM S2r, Clone Hammond 2 manuali Oberheim OB5 (cassa 4x12 + ampli geloso
valvolare), Piano dig. Yamaha Clavinova CLP860 (per studio), Reg, dig.
Roland VS880 V-xpanded.
Varie:
Midi patcher JL Cooper MSB rev + Mixer rack Behringer MX1604, Mixer
Behringer MX2842, Compressore Behringer AUTOCOM, Exciter behringer (non
ricordo il nome), Feedback destroyer Behringer, Alesis Midiverd 4, Ampli
Mackie M1400, Casse 2 sub e 2 satelliti Celestion CR series, Monitor
"live" LEM PF10
Ora per controllare il tutto uso il midi patcher, che però non è
praticissimo da programmare. Invia fino a 8 Program Change e mi consente
di gestire abbastanza comodamente il tutto.
NB. anch'io sto cercando di fare una band Pink Floyd e sono ancora nella
fase di preparazione. Voglio comunque usare nei live il registratore
digitale con tutti i cori e le doppie chitarre (e magari qualche parte
di tastiera ..... ho solo due mani!) e ovviamente gli effetti vari e
gestire anche i multieffetti per voce.

Salve,
sono Riccardo Zamana e le scrivo da Padova. Sono Tastierista in una band
disco70. Attualmente ho una struttura composta da:
4 masterkeyboard (fatar900 + 2 radium61 + 1 radium 49) + 1 pedaliera
midi (fcb1010 behrginer) per i program change
una patchbay midi Roland a880
4 expander (1 triton rack, 1 nordelectro rack, 2 NS5R korg)
1 multieffetto (M300 tc)
1 harmonizer (TC helicon voice works)
(quiklok z502 customizzato per portare tutta sta roba + un rack/mixer a
parte)
Ci ho messo un po' a gestirla, e attualmente ancora impazzisco nel
gestire i program change (1 cambio di effetto su una song => impostare
un ulteriore settaggio sulla pedaliera quasi identico al precedente..)

Conosco la tecnologia MIDI ma più dal punto di vista tecnico che
operativo.
Ho un DX7-II e una scheda MIDI, ma ho avuto la possibilità di provare
varie tastiere ed expander.

Tastierista non professionista, pianista e organista,
suono da circa 8 anni (più che altro progressive e hard rock) e
utilizzo Triton Le 76, Kurzweil K2000, Alesis QS 6.1 controllate
attualmente tramite MIDI daisy chain della quale la Triton Le è
master e invia i segnali di program change su canali diversi.
Essendo l'informatica utilissima e imprescindibile
nel fare musica, utilizzo una M-Audio Audiophile USB. La DAW (oltre
che un portatile) monta diversi software musicali, fra cui Cubase SX
e EnergyXT (host vst). A livello di VST, faccio uso di prodotti
Native Instruments, IK Multimedia, Novation, DiscoDSP, Antares,
Steinberg/Wizoo, KORG e Arturia, controllati da una tastiera pesata
(Korg EC500).
Vivo, studio e suono a Bologna, di recente non ho
avuto troppe occasioni live (circa 2 negli ultimi 4 mesi
purtroppo)...

I am a guitarist since I was 15 and I am now 35. I now
work as a sound engineer and own a surround P.A. with a total of 20 KW.
I use BAG END speakers and a collection of Phonic & dynacord
amplifiers. I use a analog 20 channel 5.1 mixer (Phonic) and a digital
one. I have a DM-24 wich has a midilayer. I have a Behringer FCB1010 a
V-amp2, a Edirol UM880 (8 channel patchbay with USB) a Roland RD-150
(Just connected to Cakewalk Sonar 4 PE with an INS file). We are looking
into expanding into a lightcontroller (DMX512 protocol) and I have
light. I also own a remote controller (Roland SI-24) with midi, I have a
Yamaha DX21 and a recorder (alesis HD24) wich also has midi-in/out.
I'd like to master midi as much as possible since it can do lotsa things.
I have attended the SAE for a audio engineeringscourse. I do lotsa stuff
all on my own and I have a serious software collection. |

- I am a midi-guitarrist, bassist and modest keyboarder
- I own dozens of MIDI devices including: DDX3216, Roland (VGA-7, GR-1,
GR-50, V-Bass, GR-700, GR-30), Technics ePiano (forget the model),
Yamaha PSR280, Ensoniq SQ-1, Line6 echo Pro, Yamaha GC10 & TX81,
Alesis A4 (midi-drums), E-Mu Proteus 1, HD recording workstation with
Steinberg VST2020 I/O and more
- I play in live performances (average 1 per month, more in summer) and
private studio
- Yes, I have a basic MIDI knowledge, so I know commands like Program
Changes, Controllers, MIDI Events, etc. I program all of my synths and
control them via a Behringer FCB1010, but it has it's limitations, so I'm
now looking at azmidi to control my herd of midi-cats.
- I can speak and write in English (or Italian? - I wish), but I do
speak German and translate it to English. If that helps. US English is
my native language. I am also a senior technical writer for a Network
Appliance company and have worked for electronics, networking and
automation companies over the years. It is all related to midi in that
midi is also a network, a basic musical devices network. I am good at
DTP a publication work, so I can help with manuals and documentation,
etc. Also localization, if I can get the translations, I can add them to
templates for a consistent look and feel in any almost language. I have
a lot of experience documenting software for network operations and
devices, industrial automation, electronics and audio. Usually I write
and test documentation by using the software and hardware as described
in the documents, confirming correctness and understandability, etc.

azMidi sounds like a great idea and I am really
interested in helping to test it.
I am a guitarist/singer/keyboardist with very modest
gear. I am currently playing through a Behringer
GMX212 and still using my old reliable DigiTech RP-1
for some effects. I have a Behringer FCB1010 for
additional control (including 2 expression pedals). I
also play a Korg DW6000.
I am a software architech for a living and only
speak/write in US English.
Let me know if I can be any assistance with testing. |

Mi piacerebbe diventare betatester per azmidi essendo
io anche un musicista:
Sono Saxofonista di formazione e tastierista per passione.
Suono per svago in una formazione a due nella quale io suono Sax e
Tastiera e
l'altra persona canta. Utilizziamo basi midi sulle quali io suono il
sax, oppure
suono la tastiera acoompagnando con l'arranger.
Quando suono il sax utilizzo Cakewalk Pro per la lettura delle basi
con visualizzazione del pentagramma in tempo reale.
Gestisco anche un Home Studio nel quale stiamo registrando un CD
PROMO per
la stagione 2006.
Dispongo di una YAMAHA 9000Pro, di una GEM S3, di expander ROLAND
SC-55 e SC88-Pro, di multiefetti YAMAHA EMP-100 e BEHRINGER
VIRTUALIZER DSP-100, entrami controllati via Midi. La 9000Pro la
piloto con una pedaliera YAMAHA MFC-10; dispongo, inoltre, di una
DIGITAR per le ritmiche con feel "tipo chitarra".
Come ti dicevo mi piacerebbe collaborare con BetaTester ma anche, se
ci fosse la possibilità, come programmatore.
Avevo già in mente di scrivere qualcosa in .NET per
la gestione MIDI in generale e quest apotrebbe essere una buona
occasione.

My name is Jack Heller and I live in Southern California.
I would like to be one of your software testers.
azMidi really caught my attention. I have been looking for a program
that could be used for setting
up a rig but all I found was various sequencers.
These are not only cumbersome but aren't as straightforward as azMidi.
The simplicity of this
program appears to be tailored for the performer not the composer but is
quite powerful in its ability to incorporate midi setup, lyrics/gif,
control and more.
I am an electrical engineer and have a basic knowledge of MIDI. I play
as a keyboardist in a rock band. We usually have a gig every month or
two. We get together twice a week for rehearsal. I use a Roland D-50
and Roland XP-80 fully loaded with sound cards, Roland R-5 Human Rhythm
Composer (drum machine) and a Roland PM-16 Pad Interface Drum Set. Also
an Aleses Microverb III, Roland M-160 Mixer with two Leslie speaker
cabinets. |

I would like to test out your software on my "rig." Currently
I have one laptop and two desktop PC's running various pieces of
software such as analog and digital audio, effects, mixers, and VSTi's.
I also use an old TX81Z FM synth. My main controller is a Yamaha WX5.
I used to own a lot of woodwinds all modified with
piezo-electrical-acoustical pickups and sold them off when I found I
could do it all from one midi controller and I never looked back. I
also use a keyboard controller for sounds not requiring expression. My
front-end is currently Magix MusicStudio which is limited to two live
channels, recorded channels are not an issue.
I was hunting around for a foot-pedal controller to do live recording
and on-demand or instant playback of loops, but the only models
available were way out of my price range and not 100% compatible with my
midi setup. When I saw your write-up on azMIDI, using software and keys
instead of the old foot-pedals you got my complete and undivided
attention. I would like to test your software and see if that makes the
magic happen and I can maybe go back to spend time actually making music
instead of engineering. Thye WX5 already sends control sequences from
its keys, so I was dreaming that I might someday be able to dump ALL the
mechanical hardware used for switching and effects completely (except
for the controllers of course).
My dream is to run an entire gig from my wind controller directly
attached to only a laptop and an amp (or the house mixer). I am almost
there. Your software might put me one step closer. If it works, it
will be revolutionary for me. (Nearly forgot in the excitement - my
venue is Jazz). |

Pro. I would like the capability of tying this all together. At
home I run most midi devices through a
Edirol
UM-880 midi patchbay to a PC running Cakewalk Sonar Producer
4.0.
Additionally I would be more than happy to assist you
with your english on your website. I lived in Italy (Napoli) for a
few years and can understand how difficult it is to piece together a
different language. Not flaming you just offering help.
